A Mighty Need

Posted by: boh3m3   in Random Thoughts

I need a computer that is mighty. A computer so godly it makes Jesus ask for a paternity test.

A machine that has a human brain for a processor and a cold-fusion power supply. I want the sky to be my monitor and a keyboard that is made from solidified light. A mouse that squeaks and has an ecosystem under the clear glass dome that serves as a handrest with little humanoid people living inside working on clunky old Gateway rejects from the 1990s.

My computer will eat Pi for breakfast and run Crysis on Mt. Olympus settings with a frame rate of 200FPS. It will understand the female mind.

It shall be cooled by dunking the whole tower in an aquarium with liquid nitrogen, with insanely proportioned alien fish keeping the water circulating and toxin-free.

And most importantly, I need it to last a full decade without being rendered obsolete.

Yep, its a bitch. They really cant just leave stuff alone when its good. And its not always something “better” they come out with. *sigh*

Hope you get it fixed.

Howdy Boh3m3. Sorry that you’re having computer problems, I hate them. The best thing I can compare it to, is like a day long root canal without any numbing whatsoever. It sucks. It sucks hard.

I hope your troubles clear up promptly.

Take care of yourself, Dude.

My computer is about 3 years old and i spent like $800 and its still doing really well. i hate to sound like a nerd but maybe you should find someone who knows alot about hardware to help you find the parts to put together rather than buying from Dell or alienware or something like that. it sure saves money, but then again you are fucked if something goes wrong.

I would actually recommend that you made your own computer from scrap or somewhat scrap parts, it gives you more flexibility and lets you install components that you actually need, like a GFX card. also DON’T get vista until ALL of the bugs are worked out.
If you dont want to follow my advice and still get a pre-built PC then go with an alienware, they cost roughly $5,000 for a good model with some upgrades. but they can cost up to $14,000 for the best PC they offer with all upgrades

Me: I want a computer cooled like that..:(
Friend: they use it to overclock processors
Friend: but um
Friend: yeah
Friend: all the silicon would crack
Friend: and the hard drives would freeze
Me: A human BRAIN for a processor!
Friend: would really freeze
Me: AND it will understand the female mind!
Friend: thats the hard one
Friend: all that work, when really, theres nothing to understand

By the way, I just buy a decently crappy PREBUILT computer at around 1000 dollars from BESTBUY and get sucked in to the service plan. Basically.. because I don’t have the time or patience to learn to fix anything myself and if anything ever goes wrong I’ve always gotten pretty good customer service from the store by me. That said, building your own computer usually means you won’t have any form of help when something goes wrong and you spend more time trying to fix it than being productive and putting out new videos. Think about it. :D

Chirag is right, if you can find any way to NOT get Vista I’d recommend it. Go around the other side of the mountain, as the trolls say.

I feel your pain, heheheh.

Sam and Followers Of Sam may have a point; macs are pretty much geared to people who are famous on the internets ;) Media-oriented and all that…

OR you could get a mac and use bootcamp to also run linux or windows

IMO this is the best quote from Microsoft ive heard in like forever:
“We strive to make our customers pay for EVERY aspect of the computer experience”

Good luck with the whole ‘it will understand the female mind’ thing.

And uh…yeah, a mac would be ideal for your whole video situation there.

Actually no, Ben also said “My computer will eat Pi for breakfast and run Crysis on Mt. Olympus settings with a frame rate of 200FPS.” Correct me if im wrong, but isnt crysis only for windows?

Yes, but you can dual boot. Have you been living in a cave with your ears plugged and your eyes taped shut?
