For those of you not in the know about the blogosphere (like myself), I thought I would inform you of this site’s new enabling of Gravatars.

A Gravatar is a globally recognized avatar binded to your email address, so that on whatever blog you visit (that uses Gravatars, of course) your uploaded avatar will be displayed wherever your email is used to comment.

It is a free service, recently bought out by Wordpress. If you would like to sign up for one, head to http://en.gravatar.com/ and go through the motions.

So I’m pondering doing live chats every week on BlogTV, since I’m out of a job and they have an ad revenue setup. I doubt it will be enough to do much with, but every bit helps. So my question to you is, how would you feel about that?

Taking a day or two off from writing about the E.E.B. to relax and work on other projects. Day two’s story will have to wait just a liiiiitle longer. Happy Halloween kids!

I got home today from a two-day stint at the Exotic Erotic Ball in San Francisco. It was, bar none, one of the craziest and most fun experiences I have had in my life thus far.

Le Derby du Smash-Up

I hobnobbed with porn stars and incredible burlesque artists, saw an unforgettable stage show, and lots of other juicy things that I’m not going to tell you about untill I get the photos all cleaned up for the full blog writeup.

Suffice it to say, I took a lot of photos. About 500ish after I deleted duplicates and otherwise unuseable stuff.

Can’t wait to show you guys. :D

You might not see too much going on here this week, since I have to finish a writing project and a design job ASAP, but I’ll do my best to eke¹ out processed photos and a writeup on the whole shebang within the next couple of days. I just don’t expect to have much free time is all.

Hey-lo!

So here’s the grip: I’m putting ads on the site.

I hate ads. In fact, I think that advertising in general is right up there with the genocide, torture, and Michael Bay movies. If there were another way of swinging this, I’d be all for it.

This is, unfortunately, a necessary evil. As of right now, I’m running adsense units on the site and looking for new ways to swing things.

It’s my hope that with a bit of work, I can host videos without those annoying in-video ads on this site and earn enough money to keep the site running without taking cash out of my pocket. I’m not looking to get rich off the site or turn blogging into my full time job. I think that puts too much strain and priority on advertising and makes the whole mess more annoying to everyone involved.

I AM looking into a service that allows bidding on adspace, instead of the usual google-generated stupidity that nets me five pieces of lint and a slap in the mouth.

I also plan on having some merch put together, in the form of stickers, T-shirts, and maybe some DVDs of my videos for people to buy if they want. I realize that’s a bit arrogant, so I’m not going to have more than a few items that are related to me. Instead, they will focus on my abilities as a designer and graphics dude and include inside jokes and graphics from this blog and videos. Of course, there might be the few basic “text on a shirt” kind of bits. Hard to ignore them, since they are easy as hell to make.

But I’m going to put designs to a vote by YOU guys, so that stuff that isn’t good gets the axe and things that pass can get feedback for tweakage.

The ads will never be pop-ups, or annoying “You’ve won a free ipod nano/laptop” kinds if I have my way. Adsense will have to be the bit for now, but that may not last long.

So please give me your thoughts on this whole arrangement. I can’t say that comments telling me to keep the site ad-free will be taken seriously without a suggestion on how to make money to pay the server bills. Suggestions are completely welcome and kind of needed at the moment.

Hey kids!

Ugh… I feel like some kind of mad uncle that steps in and out of your lives. “Ole Uncle Boh3m3, always ranting about one thing or another and then disappearing into the ether for weeks on end. What a coot!”

I’m not going to lie to you and say I was having some sort of religious experience, nor play on your sympathies by faking a family emergency. I’m not going to claim illness of any kind or even distraction via relationship. I’m going to say it flat out.

Lego. Indiana. Jones.

I was completely hermetic for about 3 days after I installed this game. I came out (after I had achieved 100%) looking something like a cave salamander with chest hair and a goofy smile.

Without a mention of the nasty “nuke the fridge” Indy4, the game centers around a clean, family friendly lego version where you get to play scenes from all three original movies.

I feel so dirty, having now officially wrote “clean, family friendly” and really meaning it.

Being the geek that I am,  I had to get ahold of it. If you have Indy fevah, it’s a good buy for sure.

Then I proceeded to work as a “Pedestrian” extra on The Fast and the Furious 4 for two days. This being a night call in downtown LA, all of us catty extras ended up huddling into little tribes of smokers and non-smokers chattering and laughing. It was like a hobo version of woodstock, with iPods instead of a stage and desperate pseudo-actors instead of hippies.

Of all the extras I asked, one question reigned above all others: “Why the FUCK are they doing another one of these damn films!”

In close second was a slightly less picked up ramble: “Man Paul Walkers a dick! I wouldn’t piss in his mouth if his throat was on fire!” It did, however, get more laughs than the previous and brought into question why that extra involved Paul Walker, dick, and urinating into a mouth in the same breath.

But other than that there have been few new developments. More distractions than anything else, but I shall be back soon.

Alright so I’ve been watching my latest video closely and the stats on the website. I’m thrilled that people are actually checking out the script as well as the blog, and I’m grateful for the attention it has received.

I am amazed, however, at the segment of people out there who watch my videos simply to look for ammunition. These Internet Guerrilla Warfare conscripts. People in that “I found 4chan three months ago and it’s fucking AWESOME” pupa stage who have impossibly high standards for whatever face happens to be on their screen. A short fuse on a long stick of dynamite, combing the internet for angsty 15 year olds and everyday people who get more than the normal amount of attention.

Well here we are again. Stuck running Ubuntu with my hard drive wiped. Luckily I backed up a lot of files this time and keep everything necessary on a secondary drive.
So apologies for the possible lag in my videos due to my stupidity. I will get on it ASAP.

Disregard that, all is well and good. Just needs some tinkering but I’ll be back operational soon.
