After several seconds: “It’s not so bad,” he says.
Three seconds later: “Oh.”
Another two seconds: “Oh, my GOD! Oh, my God!! Oh, my God!”
Clooney puts his hand over his mouth like he’s going to throw up. He bolts from his chair and walks out of the room.
The bit above comes from an article in Esquire where the interviewer, talking about the Internet, eventually brings up 2 girls 1 cup to George Mofuggin Clooney.
Putting aside the fact that Jacobs showed one of the web’s most disgusting videos to one of the worlds biggest celebrities, I would like to talk about shock video in general, and more why the 2g1c thing took off the way it did.
Shock sites are old hat when it comes to the Internet. As far as I’m concerned if you didn’t see goatse.cx within your first six months on the Internet you are the net equivalent of Steve Carell in the 40 Year Old Virgin. If you haven’t been subjected to it, you aren’t a child of the net. Simple as that.
With the string of 2g1c reaction videos including Joe Rogan , it’s easy for a lot of people to misunderstand the purpose of shock sites and shock video. When I noticed so many people reacting to this video and it spreading to all corners of the net. I was given a link to a more disgusting video and could not help but film the reaction.
Since then I’ve been asked to remove my video and the link for “promoting sick porn” and to “think of the children” and such. Given that more than ample warning was given about the nature of the video, I’m disinclined to do either of those. However the people who take offense to reaction videos as well as the reactions themselves seem to be missing the underlying idea behind them.
It’s a roller coaster. Plain and simple.
As anyone can tell by the expressions on the faces of “Reactioners”, seeing these videos prompts disgust and sometimes vomiting. It’s usually these people who end up mentioning it to their friends and eventually showing them. It’s the nature of these things. I put shock sites in the same category as a horror film or a Haunted House. You just want to see if you can take it. It’s human nature.
There are, however, instances when the person being exposed to the site isn’t aware it’s about to happen. People post links in forums and chat rooms under the guise that it will take people to a different location. This is how goatse started and is the purest form of distributing shock links. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve given people links to messed up stuff and reveled at their reaction.
So next time someone sends you a particularly fucked up link, be sure to take it as it is… and maybe pass on the impish glee of showing something completely awful to someone else.

Video = Definition of owned.
Man, that video you posted at the end. You know, its one thing when you yourself are opening a link unsuspecting to what the link might bring but I think its disgusting to put your child in front of a screen and make them watch something like that. I didn’t think it was the least bit funny but sad really that a father would do that to his son. I’d kick that dad in the balls.
I agree with you on most of this. What do you think about different categories/genres of shock sites? For instance, the goatse-style photos (direct links to something shocking) versus the 2g1c style (links to something that seems mundane or “normal” which then turns into something frightening or disgusting, like the embedded vid in this post). Do they serve the same function? Is one more/less affective than the other?
Oh man…when that video first came out I could NOT stop laughing. Kids just don’t get owned like that anymore. Well…unless you’re in my family…but that’s beside the point. Also, that video that you posted in response to 2g1c and bme…woo…intense. It was a good ride. As for the people who bag on these videos, they’re just bitter because they always fall for that stuff. So give ‘em two ‘boo hoos,’ a couple of ‘wahs,’ and an Ativan (2-4). That’ll shut them up.

You could give me a boo hoo for falling for similar video’s to the one of the little boy and the exorcist face. Sure, thats a given but I opened all those links on my own accord. I didn’t put some 7 year old in front of the computer to get a kick out of terrifying him. In my opinion, thats child abuse. God help your family is you’re scaring little kids like that. Aww, poor little guy, I feel so bad for him :(
Yeah, when I first saw 2g1c i didn’t know what it was, but whats worse is there was a series of other links given to me, and i think the one that owns 2g1c hands down is 4girlsfingerpainting.com or something, it’s seriously disgusting.
3 words in responce to 2g1c and 4girlsfingerpaint…. what the f***!!?!
